Freshman Concert Band

The Freshman Concert Band provided a bit of entertainment at the OOHS Art Show.
They sounded great.
And although I am a bit prejudiced, I think CJ looked very handsome in a shirt and tie.

 

 

 

 

 

Claire was a good sport to pose with CJ and Josh. This was our carpool crew from the summer. Not sure what will happen this summer since Claire will be driving by then!
What a good looking crew. They clean up so well!!!! 

Good Hockey in Columbus

Just a few months ago I would not have believed that the Blue Jackets would be exciting to watch.
They are just that - exciting. They have been awesome of late.
We might even get to the playoffs this year. Keep your fingers crossed.


This is the view from our seats during the first period. We were in the last row of the arena. Brought back memories of the days in the second to the last row of the Spectrum. While it was fun up there we knew that a friend had empty seats next to his so we wandered down to join him.
 

This was our view for the second and third periods.

Bobrovsky used to be a goalie for the Flyers, he now plays for the Blue Jackets.
He has been amazing and is a big part of our playoff hopes.

Happy Easter

The family Easter basket had a chocolate bunny that still had it's ears!
The bandaid suggests that there may have been an attempt by someone to eat the ears.

 

 

Who's the Boss

Remember my earlier post about Dickens being nicer so that he could get warm snuggling with us?
This is Dickens insisting that there was not enough room for two at Tucker's water bowl. There is plenty of room for the two of them, Dickens doesn't like to share!
Tucker waited patiently until Dickens was done.

 

Spring Break

Last year's spring break saw temps in the 80's. This year we awoke on our first day of break to snow. Once again we got about 6 inches. This time I didn't even bother to shovel. It melted off the driveway and sidewalk before long. It snowed again on Tuesday and Wednesday, just a little, but enough to be frustrating/annoying/depressing.

Tucker and Steve went for a long walk in the woods this morning.
Tucker is ready for a nap!

 

Snow Day

We seem to be making up for last year's lack of snow. Overnight we got about 6 inches of heavy wet snow. While CJ was still sleeping I went out to shovel. My awesome neighbor, Kevin, came over with his snowblower to help. He did the driveway and I took care of the snow plow mess at the end of the driveway. When I went back in, CJ was finally awake and enjoying a lazy day.

 

 

 

Owls in the Woods

There is an owl in the picture below. He's hard to see as I am still learning how to use the new camera. There were two owls sitting side by side until I scared them both away.

 

Piliated Woodpecker

Look at the size of that woodpecker!
Sad that the ash trees are dying, happy that the piliated woodpeckers get to feast!

 

 

 

'Spring' Orchestra Concert

 

So proud of CJ and his musical endevours. He is a wonderful cellist.
We were very lucky to have the perfect seats to see CJ duing the concert.

More Snow

Winter Survival

Our house is cold in the winter.
The cat doesn't like it at all. If he sees a stationary body he snuggles in.
Thankfully he bites us and the dog less frequently when it's cold.
Anyone want a cat?
