A Belated Trip to Philly

Since we didn't make it to Philly over Thanksgiving, (car trouble) CJ and I made the trek after Christmas.
Our first stop was at Bill & Teal's new house. They recently moved back to the Philly area which means we will be able to see them more often. The new house is so very old and so very awesome. Stone with a slate roof and a full front porch. I am so jealous!!!

Next stop was to visit with Dan, Swati and Anoushka. Anoushka has gotten so big since August. She had a bit of stranger anxiety so I didn't get much time with her, hopefully this summer she will like Aunt Mair a little better.

Next stop PopPop's house. PopPop was as talkative as ever and really enjoyed seeing CJ. I do believe that CJ is a Ziejewski. What do you think?

Last but never least was a stop at MaryKate and Mark's house.
We timed it just right as Darcy, Kelsey, Tyler and Jayson were arriving to celebrate Christmas with Aunt Kate.

Inquiring Minds want to know!

CJ and his peeps.
The adults are boring.

Oooo, my new book!
He had them both finished by the time we got back to C-Bus.

We headed back home after a birthday breakfast with MaryKate(birthday girl) and Mark.

The trip to Philly was mostly snowy and the trip home was no different.
Guess that's what happens in when you travel in the winter!

Christmas with Bunny

CJ opening his Christmas and Birthday gifts. The latest two books in a science fiction series that he and Bunny love!

CJ performs for Bunny as a warmup to her gift opening.
Really she wanted to finish her donut before opening the gifts.

Buns received some gifts that had to be explained.
This one did not. A compass for her bike.

The annual 'who's taller' photo.
Think it is going to be renamed to 'how much taller'.

What's a teenager to do while his mom and grandmom are talking?

More Christmas Memories

Yeah, a picture of me. Your welcome Bunny.

Tucker loves Moochie.

Steve stuffed old Moochie in a box to be thrown out. Notice that Tucker found her and tried to pull her out before falling asleep with new Moochie.

Such a happy boy.

Christmas Afternoon

This is how most of us spent the day.

We did manage to find the energy to grill some steaks and have a yummy dinner.

Christmas Morning

Early morning delivery of the 'hidden' presents.
CJ's suspicion was right - he did get socks. These have a dragon on them.

Tucker was very interested in every present.

A Dr. Who mug.
Dr. Who bow tie and fez.

Hmmm...is he helping or hindering?

Such a look of surprise from the man who ordered the gloves and had them sent to me!

Can you see the look on his face? He is not thrilled to be getting sheet music for patriotic songs.

And then he realized the music was for his new saxophone.
He had to play it some before he opened the last present.

Then he played some more.

He changed into a Christmas t-shirt and played again.

The Annual Christmas Tree Hunt

It was a great day to go hunting for a Christmas tree. The ground was dry and there was a chill in the air. We started this year's hunt where we found last year's tree. We checked out every tree and there were a bunch. We saw a some that would be perfect in another year or two. We also saw a few Charlie Brown trees. In the end we picked one from the beginning of the search. It was way too tall so CJ chopped it down about 3 feet from the ground. This year he did all the cutting and hauling. Teenagers are quite handy to have around!

Friday Night Live 2012

Each year after football season is over the marching band performs their Friday night shows in the theater. Where we get to hear the music of the 2012 marching season and witness the moves of their special dance numbers. This is not a stage only show. There is dancing, playing and marching in the aisles, the risers and finally in the commons.

The show runs three nights and each night is more special than the last.
