An Early April Fool's Joke?

Today it is snowing.
It snowed last week too.
Twice now the table and chairs that I put out way too early have been covered in an inch of snow.
Fortunately, March snow melts quickly.

An Easter Basket for Nut Brown

For Valentine's Day CJ gave me my very own little Nut Brown Hare.
When I cut the squares for my latest project too small, I decided to use the errors to make a basket for Nut Brown.
Little baskets require little seams and lots of patience.
But the end result was worth it. The basket is as cute as can be.
The basket now needs some jelly beans and a little bit of Easter grass.

Rushing the Season

Spanish Daffodil
Every year the school's lacrosse team sells mulch. Normally I don't buy it because it comes too early. This year I didn't care. Yesterday the mulch arrived. When CJ got home from school we spread mulch over the gardens.
Today I cleaned windows and put the screens back in. The sun streaming in is very warming which is good because the temps have gone back down to the normal range (50s). Then up from the basement came the table and chairs. After a good scrubbing, the green mold didn't really look appetizing, they were placed just so on the deck.
Come on warm weather I am ready.

Ahh, CJ...

He tried thinking outside of the box - but it wasn't nearly as comfortable.

Crazy March Weather

Two weeks ago the rains started. That week we had heavy downpours that left the towns north of us flooded. Then we had a little bit of snow. Not much, just enough to see it and groan.
The next week brought not downpours but a constant week of rain. The towns up north are still flooded and the lakes, reservoirs and rivers here are higher than I have ever seen. Our creek was rushing, I have seen it higher but don't think I have seen it moving so fast. Then Thursday night it turned to snow, again.

First it rained.

Then it snowed.

Yesterday it was sunny and warm.
Today it is back to cold and dreary, but there is hope!!

Getting Back to Sewing

Sometime last summer my woefully neglected fabric stash got boxed up and put under the basement steps. The boxes were recently retrieved from the dungeon and brought back to their rightful place by the sewing machine.

Since then I have made a pouch for the Kindle.

A sleeve for Bunny's iPad.

Using a tutorial I found on Pink Penguin I made a lunch bag.

I also adapted a fabric basket pattern on Pink Penguin and filled it with baby stuff for a lady at work. Unfortunately there is no picture.

The pattern for this adorable crayon and doodle pad portfolio came from Skip to my Lou. This creation was sent to a sweet boy in PA who has brain cancer.

The next project is in the testing stages and will be posted later.

Thanks Steve, for giving me the Kindle that needed some protection and inspired me to retrieve the boxes of beloved material.
